Web Fonts

Description:
Internet Explorer has long had the ability to attach special types of fonts to web pages allowing HTML text to render exactly as intended without having to resort to using images or Flash techniques.
Now that the HTML 5 specification includes attaching fonts with CSS using @font-face browsers like Safari, Firefox and Opera are also getting into the game.
The Web Fonts action allows Freeway users to associate both Embedded OpenType, OpenType and TrueType fonts with existing fonts in a font set. If the viewer's browser supports font embedding then the font will be downloaded and used to display the text. If not then the next font in the set will be used.

Using the action:
Select any text box that contains HTML text you want to add web fonts to and apply the Web Fonts action.
Using the Font Set drop down menu select the font set you've used for your HTML text. As you do so you'll notice that the interface items below it automatically populate to display the fonts contained in the chosen font set. Each font section contains the name of the font as well as a picker for both the Embedded OpenType (EOT) and TrueType/OpenType (TTF/OTF) fonts.
Simply add an EOT font, TTF or OTF font to any font. Internet Explorer will use the EOT font and later versions of Safari, Firefox and Opera will use the TTF or OTF font.
The action will also mark web safe fonts that appear in your font sets. Typically these won't need fonts attached as, by their very nature, they should exist on most systems.

Use the free online conversion tool at Cuvou.com to convert any TrueType fonts to the EOT format.

Adding the action to your pages:
Follow the 'Applying Item Actions' guidelines.

Requirements:
Freeway 5 Pro.

Browser compatibility:
EOT fonts are supported right back to Internet Explorer 4. Font embedding using TTF and OTF fonts requires modern versions of Safari (version 3.1), Firefox (version 3.5) and Opera (version 10).
